Braderie de Tours: giant city-wide yard sale

Yesterday was Tours' big Braderie. The braderie has all sorts of vendors (professional market sellers with their wares) but what I was chomping at the bit for was the tag sale portion. I set out knowing that I wanted things that can serve as candle holders or vases, things like glass jugs, jelly jars, stuff like that. Here are my exploits!

Jars! This is a mix of bonne maman jelly jars and l'Occitaine jars. The l'occitaine jars will be for candles, definitely. The jam jars I'm not yet sure about. I might use them as vases for the centerpieces.

More potential vases

Elizabeth is equally excited about Mommy's find of the day!
I came across these and got super-excited. They're mini bonne maman jelly jars. (a box of 163 for 5€ or about 0.03€/pc) At first I was thinking of using them in the OOT guest bags (filling them with local honey or making my own jam). My Friend Vivi saw them and said "place markers," and I had to agree. I might still use some for OOT bags if I have enough. I'll probably end up covering the lids so that they're all the same or do half yellow half purple. Bonne Maman lids are pretty and iconic, but aren't in our color scheme ^^ Anyway I'm stoked!

Updates!

SO, it's mimosa season over here, and I thought they'd be the perfect yellow flower to fill up the mini jars, hence began 2 weeks of evenings spent in front of the TV, painstakingly tearing off tiny little mofo flowers and drying them out. It was worth the effort though.
I bought some paint for glass and am turning a bunch of the regular-sized jars into candle holders. Some of them will be on windowsills and on the ground, the rest will be hung, once my sweetie gets around to making hooks.

The tops of the jars of mimosas will be covered with purple fabric, and the jars filled with lavendar will be covered with yellow fabric, then guests' name tags will be tied on with brown raffia.

Photo booth #1

This isn't exactly the picture I'd first seen. The one I first saw also had frames with actual friend/family photos in them, which we plan on doing.
Picture
The photo booth wall idea had been floating around in my head, and when I saw the green heart cutout, I was sold! So I've started collecting large empty frames (for the idea on the left) and also other frames to use for our family and friends pics.
Phew! My arms, shoulders and back (plus those of my lovely dedicated friends) were TIRED after lugging around all that glassware! I can't wait for next weekend's neighborhood tag sale :D

Things to think about. Things to do.

I'll be doing the bouts my self out of felt. This is from uberhottie's blog.

I'd really like to do chair covers. I'd like to do them on a budget. And I'd like to do them sustainably. Am REALLY not sure how to combine the 3. If you have ideas... please let me know!

Luggage tags... at least for my BM but I'd like to make them for all trans-atlantic guests

Table Names - will be named after cities our guests are coming from, and I'll be doing antique-styled maps for each table.
